#𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲: Today is Monday and these are business lessons from Mr. Bartimaeus’ transaction with the CEO, Jesus Christ.

1. 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒆𝒖𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒚.

Jesus went about doing good. Bartholomew must have heard that. And when Jesus passed by, he heard that too. So, he made his pitch. That business of us, someone needs to hear you.

2. 𝑯𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒂 𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉.

“𝐽𝑒𝑠𝑢𝑠! 𝑆𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝐷𝑎𝑣𝑖𝑑! 𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑦 𝑜𝑛 𝑚𝑒!” What better pitch than to acknowledge Jesus’ earthly lineage to a great patriarch tied to his divine assignment? It caught Jesus’ attention. Your calling has to be captivating. You probably will have less than 5 minutes. Your pitch needs some emotion with real facts.

3. 𝑯𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔’ 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏.

Mr. Bartimeus had to make enough noise for Jesus to hear. By consequence, others heard him too. They told him to ‘keep it down’. While you call to and for clients/customers, some others will hear you. They might ask you to keep quiet. But remember, you weren’t calling out to them in the first place.

4. 𝑴𝒓. 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒆𝒖𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒆𝒕.

His shouts irritated others. They needed Jesus focused on them. Bartimaeus will not have that. He needed Jesus to hear him. Like I said, some people would probably ask you to keep quiet. Your voice is too loud. But remember, the people you are calling are yet to respond. Keep calling.

5. 𝑯𝒆 𝒌𝒆𝒑𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈.

Imagine a blind man, a nobody calling for a business meeting with Jesus, a business mogul. Bartimaeus knew persistence was his only bet. So, he kept calling till Jesus heard him. Consistency might be your only gamble. You gotta keep pushing and calling. Instead, raise your voice. Raise your standard. Water breaks rocks with just a little bit of persistence.

6. 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒎.

No long thing here. Jesus heard him. Full stop! Your customers will hear you. Your clients will pick your call. They will call for your products, your services.

7. 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒅.

“𝐶ℎ𝑒𝑒𝑟 𝑢𝑝! 𝑂𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑡! 𝐻𝑒’𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢.” They were the ones who told him to keep shut. Now, they are his referrals. Relax. Some might not buy, but they will refer you. Your biggest critic can be your best referee.

8. 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒆𝒖𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕.

“𝑅𝑎𝑏𝑏𝑖, 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑒”. Straight to the point, no story. He had made his pitch, now it was time to make a sale. Be precise. Product/Service, Benefit (s) and Price. Be ready with your business process and payment structure.

9. 𝑯𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒕 𝒊𝒕! 𝑩𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉!

Jesus didn’t perform any physical process of restoring his sight. He said words of power, a key into Bartimaeus’ faith. Keep your believe. Maintain your hope. Strength your faith. You will need it at the juncture of success.

10. 𝑯𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔!

He got his sight, and followed Jesus along the road. After that transaction, don’t relax. Don’t go back. Move ahead on that road. Keep going. Follow the success. Your story has only just begun.
